Peskov: Putin not to meet with business in 2020, keeps dialogue

MOSCOW/PETROPAVLOVSK-KAMCHATSKY, Dec 28 (PRIME) -- President Vladimir Putin will not hold a traditional meeting with large business in 2020 but there is still dialogue, spokesman Dmitry Peskov said on December 27.

"It will not be held this year… but this does not mean that there is no dialogue with business,” Peskov said.

“The opposite is true: there is direct dialogue between the president and the representatives of large business, the main employers, through business organizations, the Russian Union of Industrialists and Entrepreneurs, the Chamber of Commerce and Industry and so on."

The government has not fallen for cheap populism during the pandemic, and work was effective. The economy fell less than in the other countries, he told channel Rossiya 1 and website vesti.ru.

Peskov also called sanctions against the Nord Stream-2 gas pipeline a takeover attempt.
